CMP Group Ltd., a leading provider of Marine Products, Construction, and Industrial solutions is seeking a Plastic Packager (Extruder) (night Shift) on a full-time temporary/ contract basis (until July) to join the Vaughan location/team.

The plastic packager is responsible for manufacturing and packaging of products in the Plastic Department and for the hands-on safe operation of equipment in the assigned area/department. The operator follows standard operating procedures and work instructions to ensure the productivity and quality of production.

**PAY**
- $18.73 per hour + $1.00 Night shift premium
- Opportunity for overtime when available

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Responsible for packaging of ladders, life rings, wheels, and other plastic parts within the Plastic Department
- Performs accurate review of work orders and meets or exceeds cycle times per work orders
- Attends all crew talk meetings
- Scan in and out of work orders using wedge scanning
- Follow daily work instructions to perform the duties assigned
- Understand all company policies and procedures and work within SOPs
- Operate small machinery or press when required
- Maintain good housekeeping practices within area of responsibility
- Reports equipment and tooling conditions, operating and maintenance recommendations to ensure safe and efficient operating state
- Promote safe work practices as outlined in the Ontario’s Occupational Health and Safety Act and strive for Zero-time lost accidents
- Pay special attention to all company safety SOP and equipment safety features.
- Certified in WHMIS and 4S
- Ensure Company’s quality policies and procedures are followed and required PPE is worn at all times
- Provides recommendations for changes to Visual aids
- Support internal and external auditors during quality audits
- Willingness to cross train with other areas within Metal and Plastic department and to participate in training as required by company or Lead Hand
- Other duties required by Lead Hand or Plant Manager

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- 1-2 years of experience as a packager in a manufacturing environment
- Solid understanding of safety standards and best practices
- Ability to lift up to 35lbs to 50lbs
- Basic math skills
- Basic understanding of the press machines
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under limited supervision in assigned area
- Basic understanding of equipment operation and packaging
- Knowledge of ISO 9001.

**HOURS**:

- Monday to Wednesday, 12 hours per day to start, 7 pm to 7 am
