Span Medical Products Canada (SMPC) manufactures nursing home beds for the North American market and has been a supplier of medical devices for 104 years. Our facility of 80 associates is located in the heart of Ontario's wine producing region at Beamsville. SMPC produces beds using metal fabrication, welding, robotic welding, paint and assembly processes in our 50,000 square foot facility. We are transitioning into lean manufacturing methods while developing our products on-site. We have a great team through all facets of the business and have a growth strategy that supports development of our people.
**We are currently recruiting for a Supply Chain Coordinator to join our team.**
**Position Overview**:
Performs support functions towards the accurate and timely computer entry of daily delivery schedules, working with third party logistics providers to ensure accurate and timely deliveries are made. In addition to assisting the procurement activities, including inventory and purchase order management.
**Essential Job Functions**
- Analyze inventory performance by SKU and regularly review and update replenishment criteria in response to market factors.
- Liaise with Operations to reconcile issues regarding data discrepancies to maintain proper purchasing, sales, shipping/receiving and inventory accounting.
- Review and analyze Material Planning Report in Visual Manufacturing to confirm product release dates to support cross functional Operations teams.
- Issue purchase orders, validate accuracy of vendor paperwork and conduct PO reconciliations with the vendor to ensure accuracy and timeliness of order delivery.
- Update and maintain all logistics information on orders within the MRP system prior to shipping, excluding courier shipments.
- Provide quotes to internal and external sources for shipments, as required.
- Liaising with a broad range of stakeholders including couriers, dispatch, warehouse, customer service to resolve service and operations issues.
- Assisting shipping department with routing or delivery issues, communicating changes to service requirements.
- Tracking and monitoring that all orders are delivered, on-time delivery is made, escalating to the Procurement and Warehouse Manager where necessary.
- Providing clients with information affecting delivery, such as delays delivering high levels of customer experience.
- Performing quality assessments of third-party carriers for route completeness and compliance with appropriate regulations and to ensure accuracy of documentation.
**Non-essential Job Functions**
- Performing other duties assigned by the Procurement and Warehouse Manager in accordance with established company policies and procedures.
- Understand, participate in and comply with Span Medical Product’s Health and Safety Program.
**Work Environment**
- Working within an office environment and on the production floor, required to frequently access all departments and areas within the facility.
**Physical Demands**
- The position requires prolonged sitting at a work station and use of a computer and telephone.
- Frequent walking of both long and short distances throughout the facility.
- Due to location of the some offices, frequent stair climbing to access the production area is needed.
- Occasional lifting and carrying of paperwork throughout the facility.
**Position Type/Expected Hours of Work**
- Standard work week is 40 hours, Monday to Friday, between the hours of 7:00am and 3:30pm, with 30 minutes unpaid lunch.
- Under certain circumstances, required to work longer hours or weekends, as needed.
**Qualifications, Skills/Abilities**
- Post-Secondary education in supply chain management and up to 3 years’ experience in logistics and inventory coordination.
- Fluent in both written and spoken English and possess strong communication skills, as liaison with customers and colleagues is a key focus within the job.
- Ability to work independently, demonstration critical thinking, time management and superior organizational skills.
- Must be proficient with MS Office and any other software related to the business process.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
