As part of the role, the public relations specialist will support Fortinet's communications initiatives in Canada through engagement with Fortinet executives and media outlets. The specialist will also assist in external communications with other stakeholders, such as partners, telcos, government, local business associations, local NGOs, etc.

This position will report to the Sr. Director of Corporate Communications.

**Responsibilities**:

- Draft, edit, and localize press releases and by-line articles in accordance with company messaging and editorial guidelines.
- Support the execution of the PR plan in coordination with the regional team and partner with the sales and field marketing teams.
- Execute a variety of media pitches, including tech, business, local, vertical, and across media types, including blogs, online, print, and broadcast.
- Be the focal point and oversee the local PR agency in Canada.
- Create media coverage reports and presentations to measure and show the results to the Canadian leadership team.

**Qualifications**
- Public Relations, Communications or Marketing Communications degree.
- Two years of experience in similar positions.
- English native, French is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal.
- Good knowledge and relationship with the press media in Canada.
