**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Director, Regional Field Sales, the Sales Merchandiser will develop and grow existing business, prospect new in store opportunities for the assigned customer base. They will also provide executional support to the Independent Team with duties such as merchandising, display building and other ROS driving activities.

**Key Accountabilities**:
Manage a weekly schedule to ensure full assigned territory coverage and support for Metro/Food Basics and ensure objectives are efficiently achieved;
Install point of sale material (POS) to support promotions or product launches, ensuring product and promotional/POs materials are visible and accessible;
Support the Regional Sales team to reach established sales targets by ensuring execution requirements negotiated by the Sales Representative or Key Account teams are applied at store level;
Remain apprised of industry trends and changes to the competitive environment. Communicate with key resources in stores and perform other duties as required;
Attain more space allotment and product visibility/accessibility by persuading customers with sales or execution comparisons based on knowledge of other regional stores, informing customers of “best practices”, and various other techniques;
Assist stores to secure impactful product merchandising and proper stock rotation;
Audit and enforce distribution, visibility, promotion and pricing activity with relevant banners;
Participate in sales meetings to obtain information on sales objectives, promotional actions, new products, field problems, etc and share customer feedback, potential business opportunities and detailed local market intelligence.

**Requirements**:
Minimum 1 year customer service experience in a Retail sales environment
College or University degree is desirable
Valid driver’s license and vehicle, as this position will require to commute daily to meet customers.
