**Child & Youth Worker (FRC)**

**About The Agency**

Jewish Family and Child Service is a multi-service, client-centered, family service agency and a Children’s Aid Society. We support the healthy development of individuals, children, families, and communities through prevention, protection, counselling, and education and advocacy services, within the context of Jewish values.

**About the Role**

The Family Resource Centre (FRC), a branch of Jewish Family and Child Service is looking for a
***
**Child & Youth Worker **to provide direct services and to plan, implement and organize programs for children, youth and families at the FRC drop-in program. The FRC encourages the growth and development of children and provides support to their adult caregivers.

**Responsibilities***:

- Assist in delivering activities and workshops that enhance the social, emotional, physical and mental growth of children, youth, families and the community.
- Assist and implement consistent child/youth centred programming.
- Provide child minding services in relation to specific programming activities.
- Provide information to participants about healthy child development, referrals to appropriate resources and services.
- Ensure all children and youth programs provide quality care, service and support to the participants and their caregivers.
- Clean and sanitize child care spaces, focusing on frequently touched surfaces, equipment, toys, and any other areas or items deemed necessary.
- Assist with special events (religious observances, celebrations, etc.) as needed.
- Attend and participate in Team Meetings, and any other meetings as required.
- Represent the Agency’s mission, vision, and values in the community.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications***:

- CYW or equivalent post-secondary diploma/degree or Early Childhood Education
- Experience working with diverse communities and cultures
- Knowledge of community needs and resources
- Good judgment, initiative and resourcefulness are required
- Strong computer skills and within with Microsoft Office Package (Outlook, Excel and Word), databases, and client databases.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Comprehension of French or another language will be considered an asset
- This position may require travel to different work sites
