Generation Fertility Waterloo is a patient-focused clinic and cycle monitoring is a key role in our multidisciplinary team. We are seeking a phlebotomist to join our expanding fertility practice.

The Phlebotomist is responsible for safely and accurately collecting blood samples from patients undergoing investigation or treatment for infertility. This includes ensuring proper patient identification, maintaining sample integrity, and preparing specimens for testing at external laboratories. The Phlebotomist plays a key role in providing a safe, professional, and compassionate experience for patients.

The position will be part time, approx. 20h per week. Hours will be 7-11am on weekdays. There is a potential for weekend or holiday rotation, as needed.

**Responsibilities**
- Perform venipuncture and blood collection procedures with accuracy and care.
- Verify patient identity using two unique identifiers and label all specimens accordingly.
- Ensure specimen integrity from the point of collection through to handoff for laboratory testing.
- Receive patient samples from clinic staff and prepare them for shipment to commercial laboratories.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all blood draws and specimen handling.
- Follow all safety, infection control, and quality assurance protocols.
- Monitor supplies related to phlebotomy and alert supervisor when replenishment is needed.
- Provide clear communication and reassurance to patients during the collection process.
- Report any issues with specimen collection, labeling, or patient safety to the Laboratory Supervisor.
- Participate in ongoing training and remain current with clinic policies and procedures.

**Education & Training**
- Documented training in phlebotomy.
- Diploma or certificate in Medical Laboratory Assistant/Technician (preferred).

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $22.00-$26.00 per hour
