Strathcona County is looking for a Multimedia Digital Specialist to help bring our communications to life across digital, print, and social platforms. This role will collaborate with a team that values creativity and clarity, using design skills to shape how we engage with our community. From video and photography to motion graphics and digital storytelling, this is your chance to make an impact through design that truly resonates. As a member of the Integrated Communications, Change and Engagement branch, this role leads the implementation of the brand's visual identity and develops engaging multimedia designs to support consistency and professionalism to strengthen the County's brand reputation.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Lead creative concept development and implementation for corporate projects, ensuring brand integrity and consistency across all communications
- Develop compelling graphics, photography, and videography for social media and digital engagement
- Explore and implement emerging design trends, technologies, and creative techniques to push the boundaries of multimedia storytelling and user engagement- Develop visually engaging multimedia assets that prioritize usability, accessibility, and intuitive interaction, creating adaptable designs that enhance user engagement across various digital platforms
- Oversee creative platforms, tools and equipment with strong collaboration with other creative specialists

**Qualifications**and Skills**:

- Bachelor's degree or post-secondary diploma in graphic design, multimedia design, visual arts/communications, or a related field
- At least 4 years of experience working in a creative multimedia role, with demonstrated expertise and experience in provided communications services
- High proficiency in computer literacy with demonstrated experience in Adobe Creative Suite (including Acrobat Professional, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premier Pro/Rush, After Effects, Audition, Media Encoder, Animate), digital signage and web content management systems (internal and external), social media and Microsoft Office Suite
- Extensive experience in multimedia design, including graphic design, animation, video production, and interactive media
- Strong understanding of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) principles to create engaging and accessible design
- Knowledge of branding, marketing strategies, and digital media trends to align design work with business objectives
- Excellent planning, organizational, project management, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work under time restraints and adapt to changing job priorities
- Solid understanding of communications principles and practices within the field, and of Strathcona County communication policies, guidelines and protocols
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cooperatively at all levels, both internally and externally
- Strong knowledge of commercial printing and standards to efficiently produce quality and cost-effective promotional pieces
- Strong interpersonal skills and team qualities, ability to work with confidence and collaboratively with others throughout the organization to share communications expertise
