**The Opportunity**

The Safety & Training Coordinator works closely with the supervisors, Joint Health and Safety Committee and floor employees. This position works to continually improve our safety awareness and performance.

**Responsibilities**

- Complete and track all monthly inspections
- Complete monthly KPI’s and reporting
- Organize all safety training
- Coordinate emergency response drills
- Make safety recommendations as situations arise
- Chair health and safety meetings
- Assist in aligning safety policies/practices
- Update/create hazard assessments
- Complete safety investigations including finding root causes
- Follow up with safety action items
- Complete safety orientations
- Coordinate third party service (hygiene assessments, safety consultations)
- Follow AGI’s Code of Business Ethics and related compliance policies
- Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

**Qualifications**

- High School Diploma
- Post-secondary education in Safety is an asset
- Minimum 3 years health and safety experience
- Thorough working knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize work and multitask
- Ability to coordinate and liaise with other departments
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing situations and short deadlines
