Material Handler

**Position Title: Material Handler**

**The Opportunity**

In this role you will be responsible for moving materials to different work stations within the plant, to ensure efficient production efforts.

**The Team**

You will work independently amongst a small team of production staff in order to complete tasks in an efficient manner and will report directly to the Production Supervisor.

**Responsibilities**
- Monitor material needs within work stations and respond accordingly to ensure efficient production
- Operate forklift to ensure materials are loaded or moved as required
- Read and interpret work orders, Kanban cards and job orders
- Determine location and amount of material required and deliver it to the appropriate location in a timely manner
- Transport raw materials, finished metal products, and partially finished product to various locations in the plant
- Load and unload forklift, hand cart, dolly or other vehicles with proper material
- Follow all SOP's for job including amount of material to be transported
- Participate in and follow all safety program rules and regulations
- Complete all other tasks as assigned

**Qualifications**
- Completion of grade 12 or GED
- Forklift Certification or the ability to obtain
- Production experience, or experience working in a manufacturing environment is an asset
- Ability to monitor and respond to material needs
- Good communication skills
- Ability to complete repetitive tasks and handle mathematical challenges
- Able to handle a fast-paced work environment and high demand
- Demonstrate strong teamwork and communication skills
- Strong work ethic and ability to be efficient and show initiative
- Good hand/eye coordination
- Physically able to lift up to 40 pounds and have good manual dexterity
- Attention to detail and accuracy
