Truck Driver (Ajax Start & Finish)

Crescent Moon Transport is seeking a self-motivated transport truck driver to transport goods and materials.
- Day will start from Ajax and will travel out to any of the following locations: Ottawa, Cornwall and/or Montreal
- Driver must be willing to bunk out, if needed
- Pay is based on a daily rate of $285 inclusive of HST
- Driver must be incorporated
- Minimum 3 years Canadian driving experience
- Must have clean CVOR and driving records
- Must be able to provide an experience letter documenting 3 years driving experience
- Start and end in Ajax

Responsibilities include:

- Operating and driving long haul trucks weighing over 4500 kg to transport goods and materials over long distances
- Planning and executing trip logistics and obtaining required documentation to transport goods
- Performing pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection of vehicle systems, equipment and accessories such as tires, lights and turning signals and brakes
- Overseeing the loading and unloading of goods
- Ensuring cargo is secured properly in accordance with safety requirements and following safety procedures for transporting goods
- Recording cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
- Saving all invoices, bills and receipts and handing them in to the Director of Operations at the end of each day
- Administering bills of lading and manually or electronically maintaining log books
- Communicating with the Director of Operations, dispatcher, other drivers and customers (as required) using communication devices
- May perform emergency roadside repairs

Where you’ll be working

This position will be based out of the Ajax, Ontario and trips will originate from and conclude in Ajax, Ontario. A daily run consists of a go/back trip.

You’ll need to have:

- A secondary school diploma or equivalent
- A valid Ontario CDL driver’s license (Class AZ)
- Three or more years of Canadian work experience (as a truck driver)
- A clean driving record
- A clean CVOR driver abstract
- Ability to work Monday through Friday
- A mobile (cell phone) with nationwide calling
- A current resume or CV
- A copy of your driver’s license
- A copy of your driving record (pulled within the last 30 days)
- A copy of the CVOR driver abstract (pulled within the last 30 days)
- To undergo and pass a driving test
- A valid SIN (Social Insurance Number)
- Proof validating the ability to work in Canada (e.g. passport, permanent resident card)
- A mobile number that will be used for communications
- Ontario business name and number, including articles of incorporation
- A GST/HST number

**Salary**: $74,100 per year
