Tomlinson Environmental Services (TES) is looking to add a Scale Attendant to weigh vehicles, issue scale tickets and receive payment from customers at the City owned Landfill in Peterborough, Ontario. The role works closely with the rest of the TES Team and the Municipality to ensure accuracy of information and to resolve customer disputes/queries.

The current schedule for the position is Tuesday to Saturday (8am to 5pm).

**Job Location**: Peterborough, ON

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Weigh vehicles, issue tickets and collect payment.
- Price quotes for residential phone customers.
- Ensure scale ticket information is correct.
- Communicate with foremen throughout the day to facilitate their changing needs in products required, as well as any changes in jobs and /or phases.
- Deal with customers at the site and on the phone in a courteous manner.
- Print daily reports to verify cash, debit and credit card transactions.
- Relay any customer concerns or complaints
- Other duties as assigned

**ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILTIES**
- Monitoring of vehicles and persons entering the premises
- Basic maintenance of scale and scale house as required, eg: cleaning, snow removal etc.
- Filling in as a ramp attendant when needed

**WORKING CONDITIONS**
- Dealing with customers and managing complaints
- Office-like environment, works alone and independently
- The schedule is currently 3 days per week Monday, Friday and Saturday with the potential for extra days covering either the ramp or the scale

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
- Computer knowledge and organizational skills as well as the ability to multi-task, are required.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with customers, and all co-workers required.
- Valid driver’s licence and vehicle required.
