**The Opportunity**:
The City of Red Deer is seeking temporary full-time Advance Care Paramedics or Primary Care Paramedics to work in an Emergency Medical Services role. Working in a team environment, you will be in a progressively responsible position as a registered professional paramedic, functioning in an Emergency Medical Services (EMS) role that includes pre-hospital emergency medical care and non-emergency services to the community.
- Maintain registered professions status at the Advanced Care Paramedic or Primary Care Paramedic designation with the Alberta College of Paramedics and be to deliver medical services by being compliant to the employment requirements of Alberta Health Services.
- Consideration may be given to additional courses and/or education related to emergency services and/or business may be considered an asset.
- Preference will be given to those with a minimum of 3 years on duty experience in emergency services.
- Preference is given to those with previous EMS experience in a metro, suburban, rural, or interfacility environment and in other areas of Health Care and Public Safety.
- Valid Alberta driver license. (Class 4.)
- Proven proficient use a computer and numerous software programs. (, Microsoft Office, others)
- Perform and meet objectives during stressful situations.
- Work in a team environment or independently to accomplish a task and meet the goals and objectives.
- Interpret information and comprehend messages provided through oral and written communications.
- Express ideas, oral and written, in a clear, concise, understandable and grammatically correct manner.
- Locate addresses/areas within emergency response areas being served.
- A strong desire to help those in need.
- Communication skills (oral and written).
- Leadership skills.
- Sound decision-making and critical-thinking skills.
- Fine motor skills to provide advanced pre-hospital emergency care.

**Remuneration**:
PCP $40.09 to 41.59 per hour.

ACP $42.59 to $44.09 per hour.

**Hours of Work**:
The normal schedule of work for full time employees averages to 42 hours per week with a rotating schedule of 10, 12, and 14 hour shifts. During the initial training period successful applicants will be on special assignment, working Monday - Friday for 1 week.

**Additional Information**:
More than one position will be filled from this posting and the term of these positions is anticipated to be up to 1 year.
