**Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following**:
- Serve as the first point of contact at the Justice Centre. Engage with participants who may be resistant or reluctant, creating a welcoming and supportive environment. Assist with wayfinding within the Centre, providing clear directions and information about available services.
- Work closely with the Community Case Management Team to direct participants to appropriate mental health, social, education, employment, medical, and other resources. Complete follow-up on referrals to ensure participants are accessing the support they need.
- Assess the needs of participants upon arrival and direct them to the appropriate level of support for their job search. Assist participants in understanding their next steps, both within the Justice Centre and when transitioning to external services.
- Identify and communicate any urgent participant needs or concerns, ensuring that the information is directed appropriately to relevant team members.
- Cooperate with on-site police, case management, and security personnel to ensure a safe environment for all participants, staff, and visitors.
- Assist with administrative duties, including managing reception spaces and the video booth for Justice Centre court appearances. Remind participants of court participation requirements and help them access the necessary support for attendance.
- Clearly explain Justice Centre operations and processes to participants, using language provided by the Justice Centre Crown and Community Case Management Team.
- Support participants in completing required assignments, such as apology letters and reflection exercises. Help create and distribute outreach materials in the community as needed.
- Uphold strong confidentiality practices in interactions with participants while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Ensure documentation is complete, including files, case notes, and reports, using the agency’s electronic records system. Maintain accurate statistics and draft reports as required.
**Qualifications**:
- University Degree or 2-year College Diploma in human /social services from an accredited institution
- Enthusiasm for supporting youth accessing social services and supports
- Strong case documentation, statistical reporting, file management, and organizational skills
- Ability to build interpersonal and supportive relationships with youth participants
- Clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check
- Strong spoken and written communication skills
- Ability to respond effectively in difficult situations.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office 365 including Word, Outlook, Excel, and SharePoint as well as other online software programs are required
**Hours of Work**
- Average of 35 hours per week, flexible scheduling depending on service needs
- Daytime, evening, and weekend availability
Pay: $21.17-$23.34 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 35 per week
