**Excavator Operator - Underground Utilities (with Backhoe Experience)**

You know underground work — tight digs, live utilities, tricky grades, and no room for error. You understand that every bucket counts, and that good pipe work starts with a skilled operator who knows how to work with their crew. If that sounds like you, we’d like to meet you.

**What You’ll Be Doing**
- Operating excavators and backhoes on **underground utility projects** - storm, sanitary, and watermain installations
- Digging trenches safely around **existing utilities** and maintaining proper line and grade
- Working hand-in-hand with the **pipe layer and foreman** to keep production moving efficiently
- Preparing trenches with accurate depth and slope for bedding and pipe installation
- Backfilling and compacting to spec after inspections
- Maintaining your equipment and keeping your work area clean and safe

**What You Bring**
- Proven experience on **civil underground utility projects** (municipal or private)
- Skilled with both **excavators and backhoes** in deep trench, confined, and multi-utility environments
- Strong understanding of **grades, trench safety, and shoring systems**:

- Ability to **spot for utilities**, work safely around live lines, and support your crew when needed
- A calm, steady approach — even when the trench is tight or the day is long
- Reliable transportation
- **Valid BC Driver’s License with clean Driver’s Abstract is a must**

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
