The Ontario Mine Rescue program is a world leader in mining emergency preparedness, response, and training. As you continually seek challenge in your career, you will evaluate the quality of health and safety programs in a variety of workplaces, provide outcome-oriented consulting, and develop clear and concise action plans. This will include facilitating meetings and leading industry committees, visiting sites underground or in remote locations as well as delivering high-impact training to supervisors and workers. As a member of our team, you will help to prepare the Ontario mining industry for emergency response while preparing and delivering a range of training programs, auditing and consulting with customers on emergency preparedness, maintaining emergency rescue equipment, performing repairs and annual certifications on a variety of equipment and breathing apparatus, and supporting companies during an emergency response.

You have a solid grasp of health and safety principles, advanced Ontario Mine Rescue certification, a sound understanding of the principles of adult education, and the ability to develop and implement training programs. Experience and accreditation for maintaining and rebuilding emergency response equipment are required, as are excellent communication and interpersonal skills. As an Officer, you are a natural leader with the ability to develop work plans and set and meet goals.

You have obtained a university degree, or equivalent combination of training/education, complemented with seven years (7) of related experience and seven (7) years as an active Mine Rescue volunteer. Ontario Mine Rescue - Introductory, Advanced, Technician, Briefing Officer, and Management certification is required for this position, as is a valid driver’s license. Extensive travel is required for this position.
