**Position Description**:
This position is responsible for the underwriting of Transportation accounts, including but not limited to new business, quotes, endorsements, renewals, and claims underwriting review. The junior underwriter’s primary focus is on the Transportation Program and Commercial Property and Casualty product lines. They collaborate internally with all operating areas and externally with our broker partners. As an Underwriter**,** their work will have a big impact on the profitability and growth of the transportation program.

The individual in this role is to be hardworking, diligent, detail-oriented, approachable, and possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

**Reports To**:
This position reports to the Director of Operations & Underwriting

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Processing mid-term changes/endorsement requests
- Answering broker queries and providing guidance as required
- Processing US and Canadian filings
- Assisting with the renewal preparation process
- Handling premium financing inquires and cancellations
- Ensuring all workflows, procedures, underwriting guidelines and service standards are being adhered to
- Adhering to all company policies and all insurance regulations
- Develop long-term and meaningful relationships with our broker partners
- Maintain confidentiality of client information

**Secondary Responsibilities**:

- Upselling and cross-selling of products
- Tracking of service levels
- Assisting the finance department, as required
- Supporting the claims department, as required
- Supporting the operations department, as required
- Back-up for the Task Manager and/or niche habitational team, as required
- Updating claims information

**Role Requirements**:

- Commercial underwriting insurance experience with a special focus on fleet transportation
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Competency using Microsoft Office products
- Collaborative team player
- Detail oriented
- Receptive to and welcomes coaching

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $55,000.00-$62,000.00 per year
