Penticton Regional Hospital (PRH) has an immediate Casual Rehabilitation Assistant opening within its Speech-Language Pathology Department. Under the supervision of Speech-Language Pathologists, the Rehabilitation Assistant implements rehabilitation treatment plans to support patients with communication and swallowing impairments. The Rehabilitation Assistant will administer communication and swallowing screens to assist a Speech-Language Pathologist in prescribing the appropriate assessment and treatment plan. In addition, this role organizes equipment and supplies for activities and maintain established inventory of supplies.

What makes working with the Speech-Language Pathology team and in this role so great is the wide range of opportunity to learn a variety of skills in both acute, rehab and outpatient settings; learn more about and support instrumental assessments of swallowing (Modified Barium Swallow Studies, Fibreoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing), and participation in group therapy settings.

Completion of a recognized Rehabilitation Assistant Program or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Experience with communication/language an asset.
