As a **Cashier & Warehouse Associate** at our Building Supply Store, you’ll play a key hybrid role, providing excellent customer service at the front counter while also supporting daily warehouse operations. You’ll assist customers with purchases, product information, and pickups, and help maintain organized inventory and a clean, safe workspace. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of customer interaction and hands-on physical work.

**Customer Service & Cashier Duties**:

- Greet customers and contractors warmly as they enter or approach the checkout counter.
- Operate the POS system to process purchases, returns, and special orders accurately.
- Handle cash, debit, credit, and charge account transactions.
- Verify prices, product codes (SKUs), and promotional discounts.
- Assist customers with inquiries regarding product availability, store layout, or order pickups.
- Coordinate with yard staff for large-item or bulk order pickups.
- Maintain a clean and organized front-end area, including merchandising impulse items.
- Answer phones as needed and direct calls to the appropriate departments.
- Follow all store procedures for cash handling, end-of-day balancing, and loss prevention.

**Warehouse & Inventory Support**:

- Assist with receiving, unloading, and organizing shipments and deliveries.
- Stock shelves and maintain accurate inventory levels.
- Prepare and stage customer orders for pickup or delivery.
- Operate forklifts or pallet jacks safely (training provided if necessary).
- Help maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization throughout the warehouse and yard.
- Support inventory counts and cycle checks as required.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in retail, warehouse, or customer service preferred (building supply experience is a plus).
- Comfortable using POS systems, scanners, and basic computer software.
- Strong attention to detail and basic math skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for long periods, and working in varying indoor/outdoor conditions.
- Forklift experience or certification is an asset (training can be provided).

**Schedule**:

- Must be available to work flexible shifts, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required
