Produce Manager

**Job Summary**
The Produce Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of the produce department within a retail environment. This position is responsible for ensuring the highest quality of fruits and vegetables, managing inventory, and providing exceptional customer service. The Produce Manager will lead a team of clerks, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently while maintaining a welcoming shopping experience for customers.
**Duties**
- Supervise and train produce clerks to ensure high standards of quality and customer service.
- Manage inventory levels, including ordering, receiving, and stocking produce items.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the produce department to enhance product presentation.
- Monitor product quality, freshness, and pricing to maximize sales potential.
- Implement effective merchandising strategies to drive sales and promote seasonal items.
- Handle cash transactions accurately using POS systems and ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding inventory needs and customer feedback.
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best prices and quality for produce items.
**Requirements**:
- Previous experience in retail sales or store management is preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Proficiency in cashiering and cash handling procedures.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members clearly.
- Ability to negotiate effectively with vendors for optimal product selection and pricing.
- Knowledge of produce varieties, storage requirements, and best practices for handling fresh items is a plus.
- A commitment to providing outstanding customer service while maintaining a positive shopping environment.

Pay: $42,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
