Currently, exciting seasonal employment opportunities exist in Harbourfront Centre Camps, one of Toronto’s largest, most diverse and creative day camps As such, we are seeking a dynamic, organized and collaborative **Camps Coordinator** to join our team to support all processes related to the successful operation of our camp programs.

**Position Title**: Camps Coordinator

**Department**: Education, Camps

**Number of Vacancies**: 1

**Type of Employment**: Seasonal contract, from April-September 2025. Training starting in April 2025 (part-time hours) with an increase in hours for training in May 2025. Camps run from June 30 -August 30, 2025.

**Hours of Work**:Monday to Friday, up to 35-40 hours per week (training may be assigned on weekends)

**Rate of Pay**:$22 per hour

**Work Location**: On-site at our waterfront campus in Toronto

**Duties**:

- Support the development of training programs to ensure staff are well-prepared for their roles, covering camp activities, safety protocols, and team dynamics.
- Provide guidance and oversight to Supervisors, helping them effectively manage their teams and ensure the smooth operation of their camp groups.
- Regularly assess Supervisor and Facilitators performance, provide feedback, and offer coaching on how to enhance leadership skills and address any operational challenges.
- Monitor and assess camp activities to ensure they align with the camp’s objectives and standards. Regularly evaluate the quality of programming and collaborate with staff to make necessary adjustments to improve participant engagement, learning outcomes, and overall camp experience.
- Schedule and conduct weekly check-ins with Supervisors and Facilitators to review the progress of their programs, discuss any challenges or concerns, and provide necessary support. Use these meetings as opportunities to reinforce best practices, share feedback, and ensure alignment with camp goals.
- Ensure that camp supplies, materials, and equipment are well-stocked, organized, and available for daily activities. This includes ordering new supplies, maintaining an organized inventory system, and ensuring the proper storage and accessibility of items required for programming and camp operations.
- Develop and implement creative, fun, and educational theme day activities for campers, staff and co-op students.
- Supervise and ensure smooth transitions during camper drop-off and pick-up times. This includes managing camper attendance, ensuring all campers are safely signed in and out, coordinating staff responsibilities, and addressing any late arrivals or early pick-ups.
- Plan, organize, and oversee the execution of end-of-session performances, displays, or open houses, allowing campers to showcase their work and achievements. Coordinate with staff to ensure proper preparation, timing, and execution of these events.
- Handle various administrative tasks such as preparing and submitting evaluations for staff, filing incident reports, maintaining curatorial statements (if applicable), and organizing Open House schedules.
- Organize and lead weekly staff meetings to provide updates, share important information, discuss any issues or challenges, and promote team building. These meetings are essential for maintaining communication, ensuring staff are aligned with camp goals, and fostering a collaborative environment.
- Address inquiries and concerns from parents and caregivers in a timely and professional manner.
- Take responsibility for staff and camper safety during emergency procedures, following established protocols.
- Mentor and support the growth of staff, co-op students, and volunteers, offering feedback and guidance.
- Assist with additional tasks to support camp operations as needed.

**Requirements**:

- Currently studying in post-secondary education in a field such as education, the arts, administration, or a related field, or have equivalent experience.
- 2-3 years’ experience within a camp (day or overnight), daycare or educational setting.
- 1-2 years’ experience within a camp supervisor role.
- Strong leadership skills to effectively guide staff through training sessions and coordinate engaging training activities that align with program goals, ensuring a positive and safe environment for all participants.
- Commitment to youth education and lifelong learning.
- Ability to coach and provide constructive feedback to staff, fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring top performance from the team.
