At DeeBesties, we bring the vibrant flavours of Nigeria to Saskatchewan. Our signature DeeBesties Jollof Rice Sauce has become a favourite for its rich, authentic taste and we’re hitting the streets of Moose Jaw for Sidewalk Days to share it with the community

**Responsibilities**
- Assist with food preparation tasks, including chopping, slicing, and measuring ingredients.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces.
- Support cooks and chefs during meal preparation by providing necessary ingredients and tools.
- Adhere to food safety standards and regulations to ensure a safe cooking environment.

- Participate in the cleaning of kitchen equipment and utensils after use.
- Follow all instructions from kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service.

**Requirements**:
What You’ll Do

As part of our Sidewalk Days team, you’ll:

- **Cook & Prep**: Help prepare delicious jollof rice and other menu items on-site
- **Set Up & Tear Down**: Arrange our booth, equipment, signage, and product displays each morning—and pack up at day’s end
- **Serve & Sell**: Take orders, plate food, handle cash/card transactions, and maintain a clean service area
- **Engage & Promote**: Showcase our DeeBesties Jollof Rice Sauce offer samples, answer questions, and drive awareness among festival-goers
- **Customer Care**: Greet visitors warmly, manage lines during peak times, and ensure everyone has a great experience
- Cleaning after each day event and dishes.

Who You Are
- Passionate about food and customer service
- Comfortable working outdoors in a fast-paced festival environment
- Able to lift up to 25 lbs (e.g., coolers, supplies) and stand for extended periods
- Food-safe handling knowledge or willingness to learn on the job
- Friendly, outgoing, and a strong communicator
- Available ALL three event days (June 2-5)
- Previous experience in food preparation or kitchen assistance is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong teamwork skills with a willingness to help others in the kitchen.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- A passion for the food industry and a desire to learn more about meal preparation techniques.
