Become an Accounting Representative with MPAC The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) is made up of a team of experts who understand local communities and assess every property in Ontario. What we do provides the very foundation that municipalities use to base the property taxes needed to pay for the services we use every day. Learn more > **Here’s what you will do as part of the team**: Verify and ensure all entries, payments, invoices, and other transactions adhere to relevant MPAC policies and procedures; Ensure transaction approvals adhere to MPAC’s delegation of authority policy, and report irregularities or deviations; Review, automate, and document accounting processes, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement; Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reconciliations of various general ledger accounts; Verify accuracy of account numbers, department codes, general ledger codes, project codes and payment amounts as per the terms of purchase orders and/or vendor invoices; Review prepaid, vendor downpayment, and deposit subledgers, recognize expenses, and ensure deposits/downpayments are applied correctly to vendor invoices; Perform periodic compliance audits to ensure adherence to MPAC Policy; Prepare and enter all required journal entries, including month-end, quarter-end, year-end, and correcting entries in compliance with accounting practices; Assist in the preparation of the annual financial statements and internal quarterly reporting, including responding to internal and external audit inquiries; and Use IRIS/SAP financial tools to input, validate, process and verify all transactions such as vouchers, receipts, invoices, journals etc. are recorded accurately in the IRIS/SAP financial system; (i.e. A/R, A/P, G/L, all modules). **Here’s what you will need to succeed**: Minimum 3 years of experience in finance, financial administration and or related field; Knowledge of accounting principles and taxation practices, with an understanding of financial and administrative policies and procedures; Effective communication and interpersonal skills; Detail oriented with good analytical skills.
