Duties & Responsibilities
- **Beer and RTD Analysis which includes but not limited to**:
- Daily Quality Control (Daily measurement of Plato, Brix Density, and pH);
- Alcohol content monitoring (Measurements of alcohol in both FV and BBT);
- Microbial contamination detection (PCR, Spread plates, Durham tubes);
- Colour analysis;
- IBU Analysis;
- TPO measurement;
- Assist the QA Manager in developing new analytical tests;
- Yeast Generation Tracking;
- Raw ingredient inspection / analysis;
- Final BBT QC Sign off (ABV, pH, Taste, micro);
- Sample collection;
- Assist QA Manager to run sensory activities;
- Food Safety & Quality Management: Research and staying up to date with CFIA requirements;
- Equipment Calibration & Repair:
- Assist in accreditation and audits;
- Centrifuge Calibration;
- O2, CO2 and pH meter calibration & maintenance;
- Maintain a clean and safe work area according to established policies and procedures;
- Keep the lab compliant to required standards;
- Assist in Research & Development for new products;
**Communication**
- Maintaining open & positive relationships with ALL departments;
- Open communication with Owners and ALL departments;
- Responsible to report all quality issues or deficiencies to the Quality Assurance Manager;
**Qualifications**:
- Degree in Microbiology or other related field of study required;
- 1+ years of experience working in Quality required;
- Demonstrated previous Quality experience in food or beverage industry is an asset;
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, but love collaborating within a team; Ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines;
- May be required to work different hours or weekends;
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel and Word)
