We are looking for an experienced **HEAVY EQUIPMENT** **OPERATOR **with a minimum of two years of related work experience in the Construction industry. Experience working in a crushing operation is an asset.

**Position Summary**:
The Equipment Operator will work in our Aggregate Crushing department and is responsible for operating loaders to safely and efficiently load loose product onto a rolling conveyor, assist and coordinate the receiving of materials from incoming trucks, as well as operate the excavator to breakdown rubble concrete and move material around the yard. The Operator will also learn to operate the crushing plant and wash plant.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Operate loaders according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) to reduce mechanical breakdowns and longevity of the loaders.
- Operate the following types of loaders
- Komatsu 500, Liebherr 586
- Operate a Hitatchi Ex 350 excavator with a muncher attachment to crush concrete; Hitatchi 750, and John Deere 670
- Operate the primary crusher and wash plant.
- Complete and submit the daily equipment inspection form and immediately report any defects that may jeopardize the safe operation of equipment.
- Loading product from various storage areas as needed, in a safe and efficient manner.
- Grading and sorting of bulk loads of loose materials.
- Ensure truck loads meet weight specifications - 500 Komatsu Loader has a scale attachment.
- Assist with equipment maintenance and clean-up when needed.
- Other tasks as assigned by management.

**Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience**
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 2 years of experience operating big excavators is required. Experience operating an Hitatchi 750 and John Deere 670 would be an asset.
- Experience operating front end loaders. Experience operating Komatsu - 500 and Liebherr - 586 would be an asset.
- Heavy Equipment Certification is an asset.
- Experience working in a crushing plant is an asset.
- Reliable with an excellent attendance record.
- High attention to detail.
- Able to effectively communicate and safely follow directions.
- A high commitment to personal safety and the safety of others.
- **MUST **be comfortable working in an outdoor environment in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift 10 lbs with each hand and up to 50 lbs with both hands.

**Job Type**: Permanent Full Time (Hourly) - 40 hours per week with the ability to be flexible. Mon-Fri or Tues-Sat schedule.
