Fusion Operator

Fusion operator:
Under the direct supervision of the shift supervisor, the operator is responsible for participating in tasks related to the manufacturing of custom products, including:

- Handling the required products for custom product manufacturing, such as bells, seals, saddles, etc.
- Properly identifying manufactured products.
- Interpreting plans and specifications.
- Making cuts according to plans and specifications.
- Assembling parts through fusion processes based on the plan and specifications.
- Verifying product quality during production.
- Diligently completing product exit reports, if necessary.
- Completing the manufacturing order generated by the planner.
- Moving materials out of the production area using a forklift or pallet jack.
- Acting as a substitute for the supervisor when absent, if qualified for the role.
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment conducive to productivity.
- Contributing to the development of the team by adopting a positive and winning attitude.
- Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders, including the plant director, plant supervisor, shift supervisor, maintenance personnel, and colleagues.
- Promoting a productive and favorable work environment in compliance with health and safety laws and regulations and Armtec's culture of commitment and responsibility.
- Implementing all company policies to promote a productive and favorable work environment.
- Performing any other related tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Education and experience:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a production environment.

- Quick execution/manual dexterity.
- Ability to read plans.
- Creativity.
- Precision and rigor.
- Knowledge of imperial and metric measurements.
- Capable of working standing up and in a very hot work environment.
- Physically fit.
- Good knowledge of geometry and mathematics.
- Ability to read and understand work instructions and complete reports.
- Skills in handling manual tools (drill, bandsaw, reciprocating saw, other tools specific to fusion).
- Valid forklift operator competency card (an asset).
- Valid lifting device competency cards (an asset).
- Committed and open to change.
- Good knowledge of spoken and written French.
