Reporting to the Program Leader, Foundry Virtual Care, and working collaboratively with an interprofessional team, the
**Clinical Coordinator** administers, oversees and coordinates the daily operations and services offered by the Foundry Virtual Clinic, ensuring the seamless delivery of mental health and substance use services for youth and young adults. Provides clinical leadership for the development, delivery and evaluation of online services, outcomes, and care planning for the effective utilization of client’s resources through a systems perspective. Acts as a clinical resource to staff, students and the interprofessional team members and promotes interprofessional collaboration. Establishes priorities and coordinates work assignments and schedules. Identifies learning needs and interests of staff, conducts performance evaluations, and provides formal feedback. Provides educational and orientation programs and presents to staff as required. Interprets, implements, and monitors policies, procedures, and standards related to client care in an online environment. Collaborates with other interdisciplinary team members and interfaces with Foundry centres and other health and community providers to ensure timely and seamless delivery of services. Coaches, mentors and supports staff and facilitates effective problem solving as needed. Supports student placements within the program. Identifies, coordinates and promotes evaluation, research and quality improvement initiatives. Participates in team and/or local committees, internal and external case conferences.
**Skills**: Comprehensive knowledge of the broad range of issues pertaining to adolescent mental health problems, including issues related to substance use among adolescents and families.
Demonstrated knowledge of supervisory and consultative processes, and of clinical supervision models with the ability to identify learning needs, teach, coach and provide clinical information and guidance.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the diagnositic criteria pertaining to the psychiatric diagnoses most prevalent in the adolescent population.
Demonstrated knowledge of relevant Acts, pertinent regulations, policy, procedures and other statutory and certification requirements (such as the Mental Health Act, Adult Guardianship Act, Health Care Consent Act, Child, Family and Community Service Act, and Freedom of Information Act).
Effective listening and consensus building skills that promote communication and lead to a cooperative approach to problem solving and decision making within interdisciplinary settings.
Ability to work effectively with others in a multicultural environment, independently and as part of an interprofessional team and understanding the frameworks of other disciplines.
Ability to manage crisis situations as well as to provide leadership to staff in the management of client crises.
Ability to make effective referrals in a collaborative manner, reflecting in-depth knowledge of community resources and strong collaborative skills in working with other community partners.
Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
**Education**: Masters’ Degree in a relevant health-related discipline such as Social Work, Clinical Counselling, or Clinical Psychology from an accredited university. Four (4) years’ recent, related experience working with youth and young adults with mental health and substance use issues including experience providing educational leadership and supervision within a community health care setting, and experience contributing to the development of a high quality clinical service (preferably including online counselling services), or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Post graduate professional development in mental health and substance use treatment modalities is required. Eligible for registration with affiliated professional body.
**Duties**: Oversees and coordinates the daily operations and services offered by the Foundry Virtual Clinic, and provides leadership to counsellors and peer support workers by performing duties such as supervising, coordinating work assignments, ensuring necessary resources are available, establishing priorities, promoting a positive team environment, ensuring staff have access to critical incident defusing and debriefing, and providing critical input on employee performance.
Assists the Program Leader with planning, implementing and evaluating service delivery for designated client areas through methods such as identifying service gaps or recommending changes to improve service delivery.
