The Merchandise Operations Support Specialist will be responsible to support IS, Category Management, Global Sourcing and various merchandise planning teams to configure the day to day activities and future development of various business process initiatives and tools. A cross-functional team player, the ideal incumbent will have a passion for retail and will assist in bringing the go to market plan for Giant Tiger’s buying groups to fruition through the support and training of processes and tools, starting with the PLM tool. This role will work closely with the Manager, Buying Operations & PLM to support the PLM rollout across the business and facilitate the configuration and training of the PLM tool. **Merchandise Operations Support Specialist, Role Highlights**:
Provide business teams with administrative support tasks surrounding the PLM tool ensuring best practices, processes, system and data integrity is maintained
Owns and monitors the PLM system data and supports the testing of configuration changes made to the PLM system
Supports the implementation of strategic initiatives to evolve and enhance the user experience and its role in the product lifecycle
Identifies process and procedure gaps and/or improvements and supports the investigation, evaluation and implementation of new modules and versions
Develop training content and support training activities on PLM best practices and rollout training to cross functional groups as needed
Coordinate and maintain the business system activities and internal requests related to merchandise operations to ensure that the day-to-day business standards and processes are upheld
Provide support cross functionally between the Buying Team, Vendors, and Nominated Suppliers for a variety of tasks such as facilitating the expedition of price/tickets or labels when needed
Maintain, update, and revise the Private Label Brand Standards Manuals (PLAGs) as required and communicate the updates to all stakeholders

College Diploma, University degree in Business /IT or related discipline is preferred
Ideally 3-5 years of work experience in business or IT environment and/or B/A/B.A in business or information systems
Relevant work experience and knowledge of retail business process
Working knowledge of PLM, ERP system (JDA) or similar platforms
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (MS Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Motivated and quick to learn, ability to prioritize tasks, and work independently
High attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, strong analytical and trouble-shooting skills
Ability to communicate virtually on a regular basis, and participate in calls via MS Teams.
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to remain flexible and adapt to changing priorities with efficiency and ease
Bilingual (English and French) preferred
Travel onsite to the corporate office in Ottawa and Buying Office in Montreal as required to conduct in person training and meetings
