Winnipeg, Canada WCLC Full time

Do you light up figuring out who needs to know what, and when? We should talk.

The Western Canada Lottery Corporation is looking for a collaborative and motivated **Communications Specialist** to join our Internal Communications & Change team for an 18-month term.

This is a great role for a new practitioner looking to gain experience, or someone looking to sharpen their skills in internal stakeholder engagement. As part of a larger People and Culture team, you’ll be front-and-center in helping shape and define our organizational identity as we grow and explore new ways of doing business.

Working closely with the Manager of Internal Communications and Change in our hybrid work environment, you’ll partner with leaders and departments across our organization to develop and deliver communications plans and find and capitalize on opportunities for employee engagement.

**Accountabilities**
- Source and develop content for weekly internal updates targeted to multiple audiences.
- Coordinate and produce in-person and virtual Town Halls and engagement events.
- Support departments throughout the organization to draft and develop communication plans for their teams or wider internal audiences.
- Coordinate employee engagement opportunities through surveys and Q&As.
- Provide suggestions on our approaches to any of the above - we’re not shy about finding new and better ways to do things.

**Qualifications**
- We’re looking for someone who is accountable, focused on building productive working relationships, and can drive work independently while still making sure messages and plans get appropriately reviewed:

- Be ready to respond to requests and figure out the best ways to meet the needs of stakeholders.
- Be able to proactively track deadlines and prioritize assignments accordingly.
- Be confident working with various stakeholders to develop messaging and make sure they’re comfortable with it before it goes out.

**To be successful in this role, you’ll need**
- Post-secondary education in communications, or a relevant field - or relevant related experience.
- Experience developing and executing communications plans.
- Experience in drafting and distributing employee-facing updates or newsletters.
- Experience in facilitating or supporting meetings.

**Who we are**

You may not have heard of us before, but you’ve almost certainly heard of the products we help bring to players throughout the Prairie Provinces and the North every day; lottery games like LOTTO 6/49, SPORT SELECT, and dozens of instant scratch tickets.

WCLC is the non-profit organization authorized to manage, conduct, and operate lotteries - at retail and online - and other gaming-related activities for the governments of Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba as well as the Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut. We work closely with our provincial partners to bring a first-rate lottery experience to our players and meet their changing needs with new technology and tools.

We know it’s our people that make this possible, which is why we invest in building talented, adaptable, and accountable teams. We’d love to talk to you about how you fit into that.
