**Position Details**:Fixed-term, 12 months, Existing position
**Salary Range**:$54,300 - $67,900 based on a 35-hour week
**Location**:Remote, Eastern Ontario

**What You Will Do**
As Wetland Conservation Specialist, you will primarily be responsible for the identification, development and delivery of wetland conservation projects.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Identification, prospecting and management of a variety of potential wetland and grassland conservation projects.
- Delivery of conservation projects on schedule and on budget.
- Participation in the securement of funding for conservation programs
- Steward relationships and work closely with private landowners, various conservation partners, and government organizations.
- Manage project data through various internal tracking systems.Assist with responding to public inquires and support other staff on the DUC team
You are a self-motivated individual with a positive, “can do” attitude, who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You are a reliable team player with strong organizational, time management and interpersonal skills as well as excellent oral and written communication skills will make you a great asset to our team.
**Requirements**:
- University degree in environmental science; a MSc would be an asset
- Bilingualism (French and English) with ability to confidentially converse (verbal and written) is an asset
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in the environmental field
- Valid driver’s license
- Practical knowledge of aquatic ecosystems, Species at Risk and wildlife biology
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
- Basic GIS skills and knowledge of the ESRI suite of products and associated mobile data collection apps
- Knowledge of working farms and practices, annual crop and forage/grazing production systems.
- You are a “people person” who enjoys engaging with the public and working directly with local land stewards and cultivating solid relationships.
- A passion for conservation, the environment and the outdoors; experience in the non-profit and/or environmental conservation sectors would also be an asset.
