**Major Duties and Responsibilities**
- Maintaining optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements
- Responsible for continuing programs of exploration for new materials, suppliers, and processes to achieve the best possible quality, reliability, prices, continuity, and delivery
- Interfacing with product line associates on the planning and forecasting of customer orders to meet shipments
- Responsible for supplier training and development, to meet the materials department requirements.
- Purchasing supplies and materials according to specifications
- Responsible to ensure accurate forecast of parts requirements to suppliers.
- Responsible to ensure the timely delivery of components to production.
- Manage supplier delivery performance.
- Ensuring that the company standard practices and procedures are followed in connection with all materials department functions
- Review /Inspect all incoming material to insure they meet our set-out requirements
- Manage rejected material dispositioning/credits etc.
- Establishing procedures and supervises the annual physical inventory
- Accountable for the management of inventory turns.
**Required Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Business, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing supply chain environment with progressing levels of responsibility.
- Previous experience managing employees.
- Expertise in materials planning, purchasing, logistics, and supplier management principles and best practices.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, financial planning, and business controls.
- Strong customer interfacing skills
- Strong computer, written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and follow up skill
- Exceptional time management, program management, and organization skills
- Verbal and written communication skills, including presenting and facilitating team meetings.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and successfully manage multiple responsibilities.
- ERP systems experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office
