**DEPARTMENT MANAGER**

Department manager works under the supervision of the store and senior management teams. The department manager is responsible for taking care of activities such as merchandising, stock availability, profit protection, sales and profitability, account analysis, forecasting and the general day-to-day management of the department.

The department manager should be fluent in the English language so that he/she can interact with the store and senior management teams and all employees effectively.
- Primary duties of the department while the store and senior management teams are away from the department area.
- Oversees departmental operations on a daily basis
- Responsible for the efficient operation of the department and meeting departmental goals and objectives (quality control, food safety, cleaning/sanitation, etc.)
- Manages and oversees departmental employees, including supervisors, and team leads in day-to-day tasks, updating departmental information, training, scheduling, etc.
- Provides feedback to store management team on department clerk(s) progress, and disciplinary feedback on employee job performance Partners with store management and human resources teams in department interview, hiring, and onboarding processes.
- Works with senior management and buying teams on ordering the right merchandise and products that are required for the organization.

If the inventory is kept properly, the organization will function properly Travel may be required from time to time to different store locations Department Manager Skills and Qualifications The department manager needs to be an organized, detail-oriented individual who has working knowledge in one or more department areas. - Possess mechanical skills for operating departmental and warehouse machinery and equipment from time to time when receiving team is unavailable.
