We are always looking for amazing talent who can contribute to our growth and deliver results Geotab is seeking a Jira System Administrator who will become Subject-Matter Expert (SME) and will translate functional requirements into technical requirements, understand the performance impact of development changes and communicate with the internal technical teams and other stakeholders utilizing the Jira platform. What you’ll do:
**How you’ll make an impact**:

- Assist the Jira team in maintaining established standards.
- Communicate standards, procedures, changes, and maintenance outages to the Jira Scrum team and end users using approved communication tools.
- Complete approved customization requests or suggest alternative technical solutions within established standards.
- Customize workflows, fields, screens, permissions, notifications and issue type schemes.
- Develop complex Jira workflows including project workflows, screen schemes, permission scheme, and notification schemes in Jira.
- Evaluate and manage the usage of Atlassian add-ons in collaboration with the Business Systems Analyst.
- Devise, test, and deploy integrations.
- Develop code (Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, HTML, etc.) to interact with REST APIs.
- Demonstrate proper troubleshooting techniques to fix any code bugs.
- Build and deploy servers and re-index Jira when required.
- Check logs for errors, address errors, and run the integrity checker.
- Access logging and profiling information and set up logging levels for different packages.
- Export/back up and import/restore Jira data to/from XML.
- Create custom gadgets and make them available to users.
- Configure Application Links that use an authentication type other than OAuth.
- Configure SMTP mail server for Jira in collaboration with IT.
- Set up OAuth 2.0 Integrations with Jira and Google.
- Set up incoming mail handlers for JSM projects using OAuth 2.0.
- Develop and maintain documentation and end user training materials.
- Consider security implications of all system changes, enhancements, upgrades, add-ons etc.

**What you’ll bring to this role**:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, or equivalent required
- ACP-610 Managing Jira Projects for Data Center and Server preferred
- 5+ years of experience in Jira administration.
- 5-8 years of experience in software development.
- 3+ years of experience with Jira APIs and Tool Integration.
- 3+ years of experience with databases and SQL.
- 2+ years of experience with cloud computing: GCE, AWS, Azure.
- Specialized knowledge or expertise in programming languages such as Python or C#/Java.
- Specialized knowledge or expertise in scripting languages such as PowerShell/Bash.
- Experience in designing and maintaining a monitoring solution for Jira using Prometheus, New Relic, DataDog, Dynatrace or any other system.
- Experience with Jira Configuration Manager.
- Experience with self-hosted environments.
- Ability to interpret business requirements and to estimate workload.
- High accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work well under pressure and respond to fast changing priorities and deadlines.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem-solve.
- Strong team player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
- Technical competence using software programs, including but not limited to, Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
