Educational Assistant - Kindergarten

Maternity Leave Coverage for the 23/24 School Year

**Duties**:
Assist in our Kindergarten Classroom.

Provide support to students under the direction of the classroom teacher.

**Assist teachers where instructed**: simple objective marking, implementing specific strategies, preparing materials for class, with classroom routines, classroom management system, documentation and monitoring.

**Make observations and draw conclusions**: be able to be proactive in seeing a need and supporting that need.

Analyze situations by assessing applicable strategies to assist in different situations

Monitor student stress behaviours, coping skills and avoidance patterns.

**Qualifications/Conditions**:
EA Certification would be an asset

Experience in an EA setting would be preferred

Must be flexible

Strong communication and organizational skills

Must be able to take direction graciously

Must have a police record check with vulnerability screening on file prior to starting employment

Must align with the mission and vision of ACA

**Hours of work**:
Approx. 0.30 FTE - approx 11.25 hours per week.

**Compensation**:
Based on Experience and Education
