The **Continued Care Services Manager** plays a crucial role:

- Ensure the supply of specialized community addictions services to support the recovery of _Nunavimmiut_ in their home community.

The Mandate is two-fold:

- Oversee and offer support services to guests of the recovery centre to ensure their physical and mental well-being after the treatment program and ensure proper support services are in place when guests return to their home community (aftercare. specialized services. etc.).
- Daily promoting and embodying values with colleagues, guests, and all stakeholders.
- Establishing wellness and safety practices to foster a positive and empowering workplace for all.

**I. Purpose of Position**

Under the direction of the Programs Manager, the **Continued Care Services Manager** is responsible for the development, implementation and coordination of community-based specialized addictions support services services to _Nunavimmiut_ engaged in a recovery journey for guests in communities and at the recovery center.

**II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities**

Planning:

- Plans the development of support services for the guests admitted to the program: mental health, physical health, liaison with external service providers
- Plans the development of outpatient services offered by the community-based Inuit addictions counselors (evaluation; outpatient rehabilitation; aftercare support, etc.)
- Contributes to the devising of the following processes: hiring, training and professional accreditation of the Continued care services department staff.

Management:

- Supervise and support employees of the Continued care services department
- Evaluate the services offered by the Department and makes the necessary changes to meet the needs of guests.
- Liaise with managers of partner organizations to ensure proper coordination and integration of services at the community and regional levels.
- Evaluate, support and counsel guests who are admitted in the Nunavik Wellness Court (Judicial Treatment Program) pilot project in collaboration with the Saqijuq local team.
- Oversee the Provision of after-care and follow-up interventions with guests who underwent treatment using appropriate techniques and approaches.
- Counsel individuals and family members affected by a loved one’s substance-abuse issues.
- Liase and collaborate with other local and regional resources (youth and family workers, community wellness workers, mental-health and suicide-prevention workers, treatment centres, health centres’ key interveners in addictions) to assist the guests in accessing services.
- Collaborate toward regional and local public-awareness as well as addictions-prevention initiatives.
- Facilitate the creation and maintenance of self-help/therapeutic groups in respect of the community development approach.
- The position is based at Isuarsivik; ability to travel to a community if needed is required.
- Other duties as assigned.

**III. Qualifications**

**Education**
- University degree in a discipline of social intervention;
- Training in counselling;
- Completion of a management program would be considered an asset.

**Work Experience**
- 2 years in the field of social intervention and/or counsellor.
- Experience in the field of social intervention, addictions, or wellness.
- 1 year of experience as manager or supervisor
- Experience in service planning would be considered an asset.

Knowledge and Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to use tact and diplomacy and work under pressure.
- Personal and professional experience in a cross-cultural setting.
- Ability to draft reports, documents and work plans on a computer.
- Strong ability to work independently and/or in a team.
- Ability to work outside standard office hours.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs, including Word, Excel and Outlook.

**Language**
- Ability to read, write and speak Inuktitut is highly beneficial; English is mandatory.
- Ability to read, write, and speak French is considered an asset.

**IV. Work Environment**
- The incumbent must balance multiple demands and urgent requests from guests, staff and partners.
- Must be prepared to meet the personal and professional challenges associated with living in a northern, isolated community with limited resources.

**V. Salary/Benefits**
- Working conditions are based on Nunavik’s health and social services network.
- Salary will be determined depending on qualifications and experience.
- Probation period.
- Mentorship or training program available (if requirements are not met).
