We are currently seeking a permanent, full-time Volunteer Coordinator to join our Fund Development Team. Based out of our Long-Term Care Centre at 7404 - 139 Ave NW, Edmonton, Alberta. Reporting to the Executive Assist to the President & CEO. This is an essential position of a volunteer-powered charitable organization. We’re searching for a passionate and people-focused team member who brings energy, creativity, and a heart for community service to St. Michael’s Health Group. The Volunteer Coordinator has experience working with volunteers, finding and onboarding volunteers, building relationships with community members, and coordinating events as well as activities. They have strong computer skills, are able to deliver informational presentations, is highly organized and able to juggle multiple tasks, understands the importance of building relationships, and is willing to pitch-in where needed to support the vital work of St. Michael’s Health Group.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES SUMMARY**:
- Volunteer recruitment, coordination & related activities (35% of position).
- Community engagement (25% of position).
- Supporting fund development events including AGLC related activities (25% of position).
- General admin/office coordination (15% of position).
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Patient and confident communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills, exceptional communication and problem-solving skills are required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small, collaborative team.
- Familiarity with volunteer recruitment and engagement best practices.
- A positive and upbeat attitude.
**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE**:
- High technical proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel,) and third-party software suites/volunteer management databases. Direct experience with DonotPerfect is an asset.
- Minimum 1 year experience in a non-profit or volunteer management role (CVA certification is an asset).
- A current and clear Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Check that has been obtained no more than 90 calendar days prior to the hire date.
- A tuberculosis screening that has been completed no more than 12 months prior to the hire date.
- Must hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license
