Chief Technology Officer

**About the CTO position**:
3E Nano is seeking a Chief Technology Officer to commercialize and scale our nanotechnology-based products to transform the window industry. As the leader of the Technical Team, you will prioritize the product development and validation activities to commercialize the lowest cost, highest performing, ultra-transparent solar/energy control coated polymer substrates and downstream product integrations. You will co-develop and communicate the company's technology and IP strategies to partners and investors. You will discover and implement new technologies and processes that increase the company's competitive advantage.

**CTO responsibilities**:

- Develop strategies for advancing partnerships, technology platforms, and external relationships leading to commercialization of products
- Work closely with the management and technical teams to deliver new and enhanced products which can be successfully commercialized
- Provide leadership for the Technology Team in its day-to-day operations and set both product and personal performance and development goals
- Interface with the UToronto team under the company's Sponsored Research Agreement to ensure objectives are aligned and value is maximized
- Collaborate with the company's Consortium Partners to ensure that technical and product requirements are being adequately met leading to commercialization of properly validated, profitable products
- Conduct technical reviews of products and solutions to evaluate their applicability to support company growth and profitability
- Develop, track, and control the development of annual capital and operating budgets for purchasing equipment, staffing, and ensuring effective operations
- Manage and optimize assets to meet the internal financial targets
- Track, analyze, and monitor technological performance metrics leading to launching commercial products
- Work towards implementation of a full-scale vertically integrated manufacturing model for advanced polymer-based window products
- Prepare appropriate publication records and new IP submissions with the CSA

**CTO qualifications**:

- MBA or demonstrated business acumen preferred
- Ability to lead in-depth technical analysis and research leading to commercialized products
- Strong leadership skills to manage teams in a startup environment
- Effective communication skills to translate complex documents and technical matters to stakeholders and non-technical staff
- Ability to build appropriate environments to foster talents, innovation and delivery of effective development strategies
- Ability to anticipate and develop plans to address technological challenges
- Capacity to liaise between the customers, partners and business by gathering information on the target market
- Closely work with Executive Team, Officers of Company, Board Members, including Collaboration Partners to promote 3E Nano Inc.'s technology, commercialization, and market advancements
- In-depth understanding of budget preparation and business planning including cost of ownership and future manufacturing plant related technical costs
- Understanding of large-scale coating and window manufacturing processes
- Ability to travel up to 40% including internationally up to 25%
- 7 - 10 years' management / leadership experience, ideally in the relevant industry space
