**JOB OVERVIEW: MANAGER, ACADEMIC ADVISING**
Reporting to Director, Student Success, this position is responsible for efficient and effective operation of all Academic Advising activities in the Central Advising department. The Manager will assist with carrying out responsibilities related to the delivery of quality advising services in accordance with KPU’s strategic plan. In particular, this position is responsible for the ongoing management, delivery and benchmarking of service quality across all campuses
**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
- A Master’s Degree
- 3+ years of recent related experience in a public, post-secondary institution with increasing levels of responsibility or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Leadership and team management experience
- Experience leading in a unionized environment is preferred.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Ability to effectively engage with students of diverse ages and backgrounds.
- Demonstrated commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
- Demonstrated experience leading and implementing change resulting in improvements to service quality, staff productivity and systems efficiency.
- Demonstrated understanding of strategic enrolment management concepts and academic policies and processes that contribute to a quality undergraduate experience.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills, and conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects within a rapidly changing environment.
- Thorough knowledge of Canadian post-secondary education systems
- Exceptional presentation, written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to travel between all KPU campuses frequently.
