Co-op Student, Risk Advisory

**Pay Range**:$20.20 - $23.23 per hour. Your hourly rate will be based on the year of study at school.

**_Metrolinx _**is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit, including GO Expansion, Light Rail Transit routes, and major expansions to Toronto’s subway system, to get people where they need to go, better, faster, and easier. Metrolinx is an agency of the Government of Ontario.

Our Office of the Chief Risk Officer is looking for a CO-OP Student to assist with the planning, implementation, and monitoring of Risks across Metrolinx. The CO-OP Student will work with internal stakeholders to provide analytical support in the completion of required tasks and deliverables.

**What will I be doing?**
- Provides a variety of administrative and/or technical services to support the business which may include: preparing reports, memos, meeting minutes, documents; sorting/collating/filing documents;
- Develops spreadsheets, forms, and databases to input, track, store and retrieve data
- Maintains and updates electronic filing systems and provides record management services
- Recommends improvements to existing processes and procedures to achieve greater efficiency
- Support the Office of the Chief Risk Officer in performing analysis and presentation of statistics on risks in the electronic risk tracking system
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to collect data, respond to queries and exchange information
- Help produce monthly operational documentation and reports, as assigned
- Perform assigned technical/professional/administrative duties
- Provide assistance and support to staff in a variety of areas, including gathering, inputting, organizing, and interpreting data for reports/presentations/meetings/projects
- Prepare agendas, coordinate, attend, and take minutes for daily technical/operational meetings
- Assist in the production and formatting of operational documentation (e.g. internal and external reporting to stakeholders)

**What Skills and Qualifications Do I need?**
- Must be attending school full-time and returning to an academic institution
- Must be at least 15 years of age before starting employment
- Enrolled in (Finance, Project Management, Operations Management, Human Resources, Communications, IT programs) at a post-secondary institution
- Interest in rail transportation and transit/operational planning is a strong asset
- A willingness to learn while being exposed to all aspects of Risk Management
- Previous experience working within a business environment is preferred
- Strong written, oral communication and interpersonal skills are required
- Competence in software such as Microsoft Office
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to co-operate and assist other co-workers with various projects
