**Purpose**:
Reporting to the Communications Manager,the Website & Multimedia Assistant will contribute to strengthening brand awareness, engagement, and reputation of York University Libraries. The role will assist in the design, development, and day-to-day maintenance of aspects of the York University Libraries (YUL) website, including graphics design and video editing tasks. The purpose of this role is to ensure that YUL's web presence is informative, user friendly, up to date, accessible and aligned with user experience best practices and York University's central brand. The Web & Multimedia Assistant also provides graphic design and video editing support for websites, social media projects, print publications and physical advertising materials, and events on an as-needed basis, ensuring content is engaging, accurate and adheres to and supports York's central brand.

**Education**:
Post secondary education in a related field.

**Experience**:
1-2 years demonstrated experience in web and communications support. Working understanding of social media as well as web publishing and marketing platforms including WordPress, Mailchimp, and Sprout Social is considered an asset.

**Skills**:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Proven ability to write effective promotional and informational copy for internal and external audiences. Excellent administrative skills including solid working experience using relevant technology such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher, etc. Proficiency with design and editing software including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Final Cut. Ability to manage multiple priorities enhanced by strong problem solving instincts and capabilities. Excellent organizational and time management abilities. High-level, effective written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to exercise levels of independence, judgement and initiative.
