**Key Responsibilities**
- Maintains company Quality Program (ISO 9001:2015) to achieve continuous improvement, through team-based initiatives:

- Maintains entity quality system which, at minimum, meets all the requirements of ISO 9001:2015.
- Conducts on-going evaluation of the quality system to ensure continual quality improvement and reports results and recommendations to management.
- Coordinates and assists other managers to identify business risks and areas requiring improvement.
- Develops action plans and objectives to improve processes to reduce risk.
- Increases productivity while improving quality and reducing the possibility of errors:

- Ensures all employees understand company quality objectives and encourages input, giving employees ownership in the processes that directly affect them.
- Provides insightful and accurate analysis of non-conformances and where appropriate initiates corrective action to prevent reoccurrence.
- Identifies areas of risk and opportunities for process improvements and initiates preventive actions in coordination with the department manager.
- Audits effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions and initiates corrections to reach improvement objectives.
- Ensures all measuring tools are calibrated and parts are inspected as close to the source of work as possible to reduce the possibility and cost of errors.
- Provides source of information for customer quality requirements and correlates necessary documentation.
- Maintains and supports in-process inspection system.
- Maintains a dedicated, focused and capable staff to meet current and future needs:

- Actively manage and motivate direct reports, providing both positive and constructive performance management feedback.
- Communicates effectively with clear direction, standards, and policies to all staff.
- Coach and empower supervisors to implement and enforce direction, standards, and policies.
- Cross trains staff to give the area flexibility and depth.
- Creates a positive, proactive, results oriented, mutually supportive, fun working environment.
- Evaluates training opportunities to determine its relevance, educational opportunities as to their benefit to Standard Machine.
- Recommends attendance of Standard personnel to conferences and seminars to maximize the employees’ personal growth and growth of Standard Machine as it relates to ISO requirements.

**Qualifications**
- Education_
- Journeyman trades certification or bachelor’s degree with applicable major
- Applicable ISO internal audit certificate will be considered an asset
- Competencies_
- Training in quality assurance and control, including working in an IS0:2015 environment
- Experience with gears, gear boxes, bearings, and mining replacement parts
- Proven accuracy with and ability to calibrate a variety of measurement tools such as micrometers and calipers
- Ability to identify and assess quality risks that jeopardize company commitments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including conflict resolution
- Proven ability to lead projects and teams, demonstrating strong organization and communication skills
- Progress department tasks efficiently, including the use of LEAN principles
- Detailed understanding of manufacturing processes
- Adaptive problem-solving techniques including developing new solutions through analytical, interpretative, evaluative, creative, and innovative thinking (5 Why’s, 8D, and Fishbone)
