**Job Title**: Warehouse Shipper/Receiver
**Reports To**: Operations Manager
**Department**: Shipping/Receiving
**Role Purpose**: The purpose of this role is to ensure shipments are received, recorded and distributed in accordance to MSI’s requirements.
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Prepares shipping packaging method; determines most economical and efficient shipping method; selects appropriate shipping container; packs items to ensure safe delivery.
- Prepares necessary shipping document; checks items to be shipped against work orders to ascertain that quantities, destination, and routing are correct.
- Receives and unloads incoming materials and compares information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment; may process return shipments from customers.
- Sorts, counts, packages, labels, insures, unpacks, and/or logs inventory which is shipped or received.
- Inspects shipments for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages and notifies supervisor and/or purchasing personnel.
- Delivers items to requisitioning Department.
- Traces lost shipments and/or customer claims of lost shipments, initiates proof of delivery documents.
- Maintain department database, prepare routine reports, and file shipping/receiving records.
- May operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment; may operate shrink wrap machine;
- Established and or follow up departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by management.
- Initiates continuous improvements as it relates to cost reductions, reduced cycle time and improved process quality.

**Qualifications**:

- 2-3 years of shipping and receiving experience.
- A valid forklift license is an asset
- Ability to operate forklift and pump trucks safely and efficiently
- Detail oriented, quality conscious, well organized, analytical and reliable
- Good written and oral communication skills, as well as ability to understand and communicate in written and oral English is essential
- Enthusiasm and ability to work well independently
- A positive team attitude
- Flexibility to work shifts according to business needs
- Physically capable of performing the essential duties of the job and lifting up to 50lb
