**Salary**: From $40,000 -$85,000

Pineapple Financial is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Underwriter to join our dedicated team.

**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Underwrite mortgage loans, exercising appropriate judgment and authority in interpreting various leader’s credit risk policies and making the most suitable decisions. Escalate any exceptions or high-risk files with recommendations to management.
- Exercise appropriate judgment and authority in underwriting, escalating exceptions or high-risk files with recommendations to our lender partners.
- Work within the parameters of the established client service level agreements.
- Demonstrate superior customer service skills with our lender partners, mortgage agents and their customers.
- Assist in developing and building strategic lender relationships and inform management of any business trends that may impact customer relationships.
- Learn and follow the Pineapple Underwriting Center’s processes and technology systems.
- Adhere to the company’s expectations of underwriter productivity, quality, and data integrity.
- Perform other duties and assist with special projects to support underwriting and other operational functions within the Underwriting Centre, as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum [1] years of experience in the mortgage industry.
- Mortgage Agent License Level 2 is considered an asset
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with mortgage agents and lenders.
- Familiarity with Pineapple’s processes and technology systems is a plus.
