You will be responsible to complete induct Telus PureFibre service drops to residential and business customers. Part of the duties will involve restoration of customer’s properties. Therefore, we stress quality of work as well as possessing great customer skills.

**Job Requirements**:

- Experience with hand tools such as wire cutters, screw drivers, wrenches, electric drills etc.
- Must be able to work on the ground in sidewalk boxes to access the buried fiber drops through conduits.
- Requires kneeling and hand digging/spading on customers yards to bury conduits.
- Must have computer skills
- Drop Techs need to review work assignments and clear service orders.
- Must pass industry standard background and driver’s license check and drug test.
- Identify and clearly mark existing underground cables as directed.
- Identify and mark locations of new cable to be buried underground (“bury drops”).
- Operate locate and bury drop equipment as required within areas of responsibility.
- Perform a variety of tasks and duties to support both field personnel and our customers.
- Perform quality assurance checks and complete the paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
- Wear safety apparel which includes hard hats (where required), safety vests, CSA approved boots, etc. (PPE)
- Possess knowledge of safety program, practice and enforce safety rules and procedures.
- Drive Company vehicles safely, courteously, and defensively; schedule appropriate maintenance as required.
- Drive/maneuver vehicle and trailers in and around construction sites, parking lots, etc.
- Communicate effectively and professionally in all forms of communication with internal and external customers.
- Adhere to privacy guidelines to ensure each customer’s privacy.
- Maintain regular attendance and arrive to work on time as required by your position
- Experience is preferred - on the job training will be provided.
- Must have a cell phone.
- Ability to lift and move up to 75 lbs.
- Must be able to work flexible hours with the understanding that workdays can be in excess of normal hours and some weekend and holiday work may be required.
- Ability to be “on call” and “on standby” in relation to the workload.

**Physical Demands**:

- Ability to perform strenuous physical activities including, but not limited to: lifting objects weighing over 75 pounds. Digging holes and spading in ground.
- Work involves driving a motor vehicle safety on a daily basis, standing, talking, hearing, using hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls and reaching with hands and arms.

**Work Environment**:

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in inclement weather conditions.
- The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibration.
- The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Contract, Commission

Pay: $18.00-$26.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
