Finance Intern

**Short Summary**:
The co-op placement is intended to provide students with hands-on professional experience, ideally in their field of study (Accounting/Finance). This role will assist the different finance teams at the Corporate Head Office with the daily accounting/administration functions.

**Accounting, Finance and Procurement Teams**
- Assist AP voucher entry, statement review and filing
- Assist with Income Audit paperwork organization and data entry
- Assist AR with review and preparation of voucher into JDE
- Scan AR voucher entry in preparation for invoicing the client
- Prepare physical and electronic files for storage in Content Management
- Other duties as assigned by the Associate Manager of Accounting
- Support inventory quarterly count on July 1st if needed

**Regional Accounting Team**
- Process AP invoices
- Record AR invoices and cash receipts
- Prepare journal entries
- Prepare electronic filing in Content Manager
- Conduct contract reconciliations
- Handle special projects if applicable

**PDP Accounting Team**
- Support with Banking Journal Entries (bank charge, interest income, cheque deposited, rent received)
- Prepare Bank Reconciliations
- Prepare monthly Journal Entries
- Prepare HST Reconciliation
- Complete HST payment processing & filing
- Prepare invoices and cash receipts
- Prepare events and Education (payment collection, reporting and invoicing)
- Complete Events & Programs Attendance Journal Entries
- Prepare GL Reconciliations
- Handle special projects if applicable

May be requested to assist in various administrative functions related to the accounting department.

**Qualifications**:

- Enrolled in a college or university program, Finance/Accounting/Business Commerce
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word)
- Experience with JD Edwards or other ERP Systems is considered an asset
- Working towards CPA designation is an asset
- Bilingualism is an asset (English and French)

**Working Conditions**:

- Able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines, conflicting demands, frequent interruptions, and heavy work loads.
- Working in an office environment.
- Light to infrequently moderate physical effort; Requires handling of light and moderate weight objects including office equipment and other office supplies.
