Reporting to the Program Manager, the Summer Program Assistant, Peace Ranch will support the team and program, which is focused on client and community support and engagement.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Assist with SHIP’s Virtual Programming rollout and sustainability
- Work with the team to create a broad food security program/plan for the organization
- Support virtual volunteer engagement
- Support client engagement through our social purpose businesses
- Organize, maintain, and coordinate office records and files
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and complete records
- Monitor documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and relevance to business processes
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality in all interactions
- Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and attitude at all times
- Perform other related duties and project as required

**Qualifications**:

- Pursuing or have a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in a related field or equivalent
- Between 15-30 years of age at the start of employment
- Coop experience in social services or equivalent is an asset
- Effective decision making skills and ability to assess a comprehensive range of variables to be able to interpret, analyze, and solve problems
- Previous experience working or volunteering in a non-profit organization is an asset
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures
- Ability to handle sensitive or private information with tact and discretion
- Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands
- Ability to work individually as well as part of a team
- Demonstrated time management skills
- Strong sense of ethics towards a highly diverse range of individuals of varying levels of education, professions, personal life experiences, and cultural or socio-economic backgrounds

**Working Conditions and Physical Requirements**:

- Hours will be three days a week for 8 weeks, between Monday and Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm but may vary depending on client needs
- Average amount of physical effort is required.
- Able to sit/stand for prolonged periods of time
- Able to answer and communicate telephone calls and general computer use
- Able to lift up to 20lbs (product, documents, etc.)
- Vehicle travel to sites for visits/walk-throughs and open doors as required

As part of SHIP’s commitment to health and safety, it is a condition of employment that you be fully vaccinated (2 doses, including 14 days since your second dose) against COVID-19 or have an exemption pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.

**Salary**: $17.17 per hour
