The **Cafe Ambassador**is a great opportunity for a team player who wants to build connections and engage with our community You play a critical role in creating an engaging and welcoming environment at the Platform Innovation Centre and support the daily operations of the Café. _This role is a contract, on-call position. _

**The day-to-day activities of the Cafe Ambassador will include**:

- Greet and engage with visitors of the Platform Innovation Centre, answering questions, and assisting with wayfinding.
- Provide exceptional front line service to cafe customers preparing and serving making coffees, teas, and other beverages.
- Warming and serving breakfast and lunch style foods.
- Provide knowledgeable service and attention, able to speak to the food products and beverages being served in the café and make recommendations.
- Maintain the café in terms of organization, visual presentation, a high level of cleanliness and track customer suggestions, quality and issues and stock issues.
- Ensure the seating area is clean and welcoming; bus and sanitize tables as necessary.
- Efficiently and accurately process customer transactions through the POS system.
- Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage, ensuring that all stocks and supplies are requested in a timely fashion.
- Assist with upholding policies and procedures in the cafe.
- Support the Lead, Cafe Operations with the training of new staff and overseeing their performance.
- Other duties as required, as part of our “_All Hands_’ values.
- Experience working in a cafe, restaurant or customer service environment is a bonus
- Ability to communicate effectively with multiple teams.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities concurrently.
- Will require Proserve certification.
