**_Description_**
Canada Games Park and the Walker Sports and Abilities Centre is proudly managed by ASM Global, the world’s largest and most trusted venue management and services company operating the most prestigious entertainment, sports, and exhibition venues spanning five continents, with a portfolio of more than 300 stadiums, arenas, convention centres, entertainment districts, theatres, amphitheaters, and equestrian and recreational centres. ASM Global has an immediate opening at Canada Games Park and the Walker Sports and Abilities Centre for an Operations Lead Hand. Reporting to the Operations Manager this position oversees all facility & ice crew duties consistent with ASM Global at Canada Games Park and the Walker Sports and Abilities Centre requirements.

**_Position Summary**_
- **_**Responsible for the daily activities required to run, maintain, and service the facility and its events by performing the following essential duties personally or through subordinate workers. Coordinating maintenance schedules and projects with operators and operations team as well as occasionally supervising overnight facility maintenance or setups.

**_Essential Duties and Responsibilities_**
- Performance of ice maintenance, event setup, building maintenance, grounds maintenance and custodial duties
- To function in a leadership/supervisory capacity, supervising and coordinating activities of part time operations personnel.
- Investigate, analyze and resolve operational issues.
- Ability to work varied schedule including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Perform building opening and closing procedures; assist in providing facility security and ensuring procedures are followed in the event of evacuation, fire alarms, injuries, etc.
- Perform minor repairs.
- Assist and instruct operations staff.
- Monitor the refrigeration plant in accordance with TSSA legal requirements.
- Monitor building systems
- Other duties as assigned.

**_Qualifications & Skill Requirements_**
- Secondary school graduate.
- Ice resurfacing experience
- Must possess valid Ontario class “G” driver’s license.
- Minimum of 2 years related work experience an asset
- Ability to do heavy lifting and ability to work at heights.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Demonstrated familiarity with tools and maintenance equipment.
- Ability to develop good rapport with management, tenants, fellow employees and the general public.
- Excellent organization skills.
- Ability to prioritize and to handle multiple projects simultaneously, working under tight deadlines.
- Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic.
- Some basic computer skills.
- Ability to work with limited supervision and as a team member.
- Requires ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in addition to normal business hours.

- This position requires the employee to work inside and outside the building in all types of climate and weather.
- There is not a set schedule for this department. Hours will total 40.00 hours per week.
- The shifts are varied and can include overnight, as well as day, evening, and weekend shifts.
- The employee may be required to walk for long periods of time.
- The employee is required to stand, lift, kneel, and bend for periods of time.
- The employee may be required to climb, work at heights, walk along high walkways.
- The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
- This work requires utilizing tools and equipment that could cause physical injury if not handled and operated following safety practices and procedures.
- This work requires the use of chemicals that could cause physical injury if not handled and operated following safety practices and procedures.
- The employee is required to follow WHMIS practices and guidelines as well as provincial Health and Safety regulations at all times.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times where required:

- The employee must provide their own CSA approved steel toe safety shoes/boots, and they must be worn at all times during every shift.
- Employees must properly wear a CSA approved helmet when working on the ice surface. it is strongly recommended that the employee provide their own.
- Work gloves must be worn at all times when handling floor boarding, and at all times where hand protection is deemed necessary. The employee must provide their own work gloves.
- A reflective vest must be worn at all times when working outside. Vests are provided to the employee by ASM management.
- Latex/Nitrile gloves must be worn at all times when performing custodial duties, or duties where chemicals are utiliz
