**Assistant Manager, Residential and Reintegration Services**
**Temporary Full Time position**
EFry Hope and Help for Women provides residential programs and reintegration supports to women and girls experiencing conflict with the law, mental health and addiction issues, chronic homelessness and gender-based violence. The Assistant Manager, Residential and Reintegration Services will be responsible for ensuring the safe, healthy, and effective provision of services across various residential programs. In this role, the successful incumbent will manage the provision of crisis intervention, counselling, education regarding residential options in the community, and referral services to women and girls in need. Moreover, the Assistant Manager will provide direction, support and policy with respect to case management, management of residential programs, and help to oversee the safety and security of the staff, clients, and volunteers.
- **Areas of Responsibility**:_
- Oversees delivery of services to our clients through the supervision of Residential Caseworkers, placement students, and volunteers on a day-to-day basis.
- Ensures effective quality assurance of all residential related programs is in place and adhered to by staff
- Engages as an active participant of the leadership team and is committed to ongoing professional development in this area.
- Ensures that services to women and girls are provided according to the policies and procedures of the residential program (e.g. health and safety, program manuals, organizational policy and procedure, etc.); consulting with the Manager of Residential and Reintegration Services as needed.
- Assists in the development, implementation, annual audits and evaluation of all residential program policies and procedures.
- Develops and nurtures relationships with existing and new community partners and stakeholders, ensuring that referrals and recommended actions are followed up with in an effective manner.
- Ensures client files are maintained according to policies and procedures and documentation meets the required standards.
- Provides supervision, assistance in problem solving, and support to the Residential Coordinator(s), as well as front-line Residential Caseworkers and directs action to be taken; supervision includes providing constructive feedback to employees with respect to performance improvement requirements.
- Participates in the recruitment, hiring, and training of new residential staff and volunteers.
- Identifies training and development needs of employees and, in conjunction with the Manager of Residential and Reintegration Services, develops and implements action plans to meet these needs.
- Demonstrates accountability by demonstrating responsibility and following through on commitments.
- Supports inclusion and equity by respecting others, embracing diversity and addressing oppression
- Actively participates in team meetings and provides a forum in which employees can raise new ideas, concerns, conflicts, and suggestions regarding services and personnel matters.
- Participates and is available on an on-call rotational schedule (after hours).
- Monitors and reports out on financial transactions of residential programs.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Manager of Residential and Reintegration Services.
- A Bachelor’s degree and/or diploma related to socialservices.
- 1-3 years management/supervisory experience in a socialservice setting isrequired.
- Knowledgeable and skilled in the day-to-day supervision of people and residential programs and have the ability to follow-up on tasks to ensure the optimum, safe, and effective delivery of services.
- Demonstrated people managementskills including: mentoring, coaching, team building, training, development, and conflict resolutions skills.
- Strong working knowledge of residential programs and services, applicable and relevant legislation and policies is considered an asset.
- A dedicated and keen desire to foster healthy workplaces, free from discriminatory practices; recognizes the values involved with actively moving towards greater inclusivity and equity in the workplace.
- The ability to communicate clearly with colleagues, and effectively with residents, non-residents, and other professionals, the public and employees.
- Practical knowledge and experience facilitating gender specific and responsive programming.
