**Description**

Reporting directly to the CTO, the VP of Technology will set the overall tone for quality and direction across the entire engineering organization at Thrillworks. You will lead all development efforts with an eye to future strategic technical innovation while setting the long-term vision for Thrillworks technologists and cultivating relationships at a senior level with significant clients.

**As a VP of Technology, you will**:

- Direct oversight of technical directors
- Long-term forecasting of trends and changes in technology ensures the team is trained and equipped to grow.
- Establish team best practices in career growth, goal setting, and performance management
- Work in partnership with business functions to build strategy and roadmap that will support rapid growth
- Participate in and facilitate the strategic and operation process improvement of the organization
- Identify potential bottlenecks and prepare the company for growth
- Act as a senior-level technical counterpart with client technology and corporate leadership groups
- Seek opportunities for Thrillworks Engineering to engage with the larger technical community (local and abroad) in user groups, thought leadership, etc.
- Ensure mid-term engineering forecasting and allocation needs are clear and staffed appropriately
- Empower the engineering organization to deliver best-in-class experiences for our business partners and customers
- Advocate and represent Thrillworks Engineering, as well as other disciplines within Thrillworks, both internally and externally**The role of a VP of Technology requires**:

- Four-year college or university degree with a focus on Computer Science, Business Administration, or IT (Information Technology) or related areas, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 12 years of experience in a relevant area and at least 5 years of hands-on software engineering experience.
- Experience with writing software and leading engineering teams.
- Passion for digital marketing in a fast-paced environment.
- Love for solving complex technical problems at scale.
- Ability to coordinate and communicate across stakeholders that span several functional areas, including designers, product owners, frontend/backend/fullstack developers, DevOps, test engineers, and customer business stakeholders.
- Proven track record in hiring and building solid and effective teams with members of all experience/seniority levels
- Working experience in both agency and corporate/enterprise environments.
- Pragmatic and result-oriented approach to building solutions that scale and solve business needs—ability to make trade-offs to focus on things that matter most to our customers.
- Intelligent and proactive communicator, able to empathize with peers and direct reports alike.
- Has an agile mindset focusing on fast iteration and fail-fast attitude (living in practice the think it, build it, ship it, tweak it mantra).
- Action bias and pride for outstanding results.
