**The Opportunity**:
Red River Co-op is recruiting for the position of Deli Clerk at Seasons Food Store located at 755 Sterling Lyon Parkway, in Winnipeg. This position reports to the Deli Manager. The Deli Clerk adds value to our Co-operative by delivering world-class customer service; ordering and stocking deli merchandise; merchandising and displaying product; cooking and preparing fresh foods; slicing lunch meat and cheese; and maintaining department cleanliness and housekeeping standards.

***Essential responsibilities of the position include the following:

- Maintain sections of merchandise (luncheon meat, cheese, home meal replacement, hot food, bulk product, packaged product) as assigned in an effective manner. Ensure first-in, first-out rotation is followed at all times, and that close-dated product is reported to the Deli Manager.
- Ensure the deli department is properly stocked with merchandise and faced at all times.
- Receive, inspect, and store orders upon delivery to ensure all product is immediately stored in proper temperature-controlled environment.
- Prepare fresh value added product and home meal replacement items as per established Co-op recipes and procedures. Ensure consistency in ingredients used and preparation method at all times.
- Perform general housekeeping duties to ensure department image and safety standards are followed.

**About You**:
To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:

- Previous experience in a retail deli department, preferred but not required
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
